Beloved Care Forest Members & Supporters: I woke up this morning with a heart full of gratitude for each of you and a sincere wish to share the sights, sounds, and beauty of the forest with you. I went for a walk to the grandmother tree, and since our circle of members is small (transparency moment: I know each of you personally), each step was an intention for a wonderful 2020 and a prayer of gratitude for your support. I wish I could put aromas in a video, it smells incredible here after all the rain. There are mushrooms sprouting on tree logs and the creek is flowing strong. I hope we get a chance to take a walk together in the woods really soon! When I am Among The Trees
by Mary Oliver When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks, and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness. I would almost say they save me, and daily. I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often. Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, "Stay awhile." The light flows from their branches. And they call again, "It's simple," they say, "and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine." |
